Abigail Spencer (Mad Men) has landed the female lead opposite Eric Roberts in ABC’s drama pilot Grace, from writer Krista Vernoff. A dysfunctional family drama set in the world of professional dance, it centers on Michael Grace (Roberts), a famous choreographer who tends to sleep with his dancers and has three daughters with different mothers. He is in danger of losing his studio until his daughter Sarah (Spencer), a former dancer-turned-lawyer, decides to buy her father’s studio and run it for him before he loses it. Spencer, repped by ICM and Untitled, recently filmed the features Cowboys and Aliens and A Haunting in Georgia.
There’s an article found Here about the funeral for Abigail’s father. Sounded like a celebration of his life. Our prayers and thoughts stay with Abigial and her family.
Sad news, it looks like Abigail’s father passed away this week. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her whole family at this time.

Misc. Scoop: Somehow amidst a flurry of movie gigs (including Cowboys & Aliens, Reese Witherspoon’s This Means War and Chad Michael Murray’s The Haunting In Georgia), Mad Men alumna Abigail Spencer found time to write and sell to ABC Family a pilot script called Teach. She sums it up as “Grey’s Anatomy with high school teachers.”
Abigail Spencer has been cast in This Means War, the action comedy starring Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.
Spencer, repped by ICM and Untitled Entertainment, is best known for her work in Mad Men, where she played elementary school teacher — and Don Draper mistress — Miss Farrell.
This Means War is currently shooting in British Columbia with McG in the director’s chair.
The script centers on two best friends (Pine and Hardy), who are also covert agents, that fall in love with the same woman (Witherspoon), setting in motion a battle between spies for the woman’s heart.
Spencer plays Hardy’s ex-wife.
Angela Bassett has also joined the production, playing the boss to Pine’s and Hardy’s characters.
The actress has been on a bit of a roll since, nabbing an appearance in Cowboys & Aliens and booking a starring gig in The Haunting in Georgia, which will shoot early next year
Abigail Spencer joins This Means War
Well I guess it’s time to open this! I’ve been a HUGE fan of Abigail since the All My Children days (swoon Becca & Scott) and have always toyed with the idea of opening a fan site for her. There’s not a real resource out there for Abigail, celebrating all her works, so I figured it was time!
There’s a lot more to come for the gallery, including caps and clips from her lifetime series, Angela’s Eyes.
Ready to be haunted again? The Haunting in Georgia, a semi-follow up to 2009’s The Haunting in Connecticut, is based on the true story of the Wyrick family and the trouble they face when they discover their new house is cursed. So who can you expect to see in Georgia? We’ll tell you after the break.
The Wyrick family will be played by Chad Michael Murray (House of Wax), Abigail Spencer (Mad Men and the upcoming Cowboys & Aliens), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, White Noise 2), and Emily Alyn Lind (Eastwick). Murray and Spencer portray the Wyricks, Lind, their daughter, and Sackhoff is the sister. Cicely Tyson (Roots) will also star. Television writer David Coggeshall penned the script. This will be Tom Elkins’s directorial debut (he cut The Haunting in Connecticut).
